The Luton Safeguarding Children Board


The Luton Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) is the key statutory body for agreeing how the relevant organisations in Luton co-operate to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, and for ensuring the effectiveness of what they do.

The LSCB has representation from the statutory and voluntary sector in Luton including:

  • Bedfordshire Police
  • Bedfordshire and Luton Probation trust
  • Luton NHS
  • Luton & Dunstable Hospital
  • Luton Borough Council
  • Cambridgeshire Community Services
  • South Essex Partnership Trust
  • Luton Assembly
  • Luton Schools

Who to Refer

The LSCB is a non operational body and can provide advice and guidance on safeguarding issues relating to children and young people up to 18 years of age.

Please note: when seeking/receiving advice in regard to patient care and making referrals, NHS Connecting for Health Information Governance standards and policies must be adhered to.

Who not to Refer

The LSCB is a strategic body and does not directly deal with referrals.
