  • Nuclear Medicine

GP practices can now order patient images electronically and view reports using ICE (Integrated Clinical Environment) within their own surgeries as soon as the report is verified.  This process has streamlined and speeded up the progress of ordering and receiving patient reports.

(Note:  Some GP practices do not have access to this facility)

Hours of Work

24 hour service for A&E, 7 days a week.
Plain Film is 8.30am - 4.30pm, Monday - Friday (Appointment required)
Chest X-Rays 9am - 12pm, 1.30pm - 4.30pm, Monday - Friday (Walk in service)

Some evening and weekend sessions are provided when needed to maintain waiting times.

Who to Refer

The Imaging Department accepts referrals for all modalities and requests are authorised by a consultant radiologist.

Who not to Refer

Please refer to the Royal College of Radiologists Guidelines "Making the Best Use of Clinical Radiology Services" for appropriate referral indications.  Should further information or discussion be required, please contact the duty radiologist on 0845 127 0127 ext 2228.
