Please note: when seeking/receiving advice in regard to patient care and making referrals, NHS Connecting for Health Information Governance standards and policies must be adhered to.
Practitioners are increasingly met with requests from patients for information on this type of surgery. Unless there are extremely strong supporting reasons (often including the opinion of a clinical psychologist) such surgery cannot normally be carried out on the NHS. Although the department would be happy to discuss individual cases, patients should probably consider funding such surgery themselves much as they would purchase any other luxury item. Please refer to the list of aesthetic surgery exclusions published by Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire low priorities forum guidance http://www.hertfordshire.nhs.uk/resource-centre/bedfordshire-a-hertfordshire-priorities-forum.html
