Gross Motor Developmental Delay

Children who are not meeting their motor milestones due to a variety of factors e.g.

  • part of a syndrome
  • Hypermobility
  • low muscle tone
  • lack of experience
  • genetic

Good indicators of gross motor delay:

  • a child is unable to sit unaided by 9 months
  • a child is not attempting to walk by 20 months
  • a child under 3 is using one hand more than the other
